Children’s Book Give Away July 2017

It is time for our July Give-Away and we’re proudly offering a book for children!

Kes Gray, author of Mum and Dad Glue has generously donated two autographed copies of his book, one of which will be kept in our Library and the other will be given away in a lucky draw. To enter the draw, please comment below and tell us why you would like to win the book. The draw will take place at 12:00 (SAST) on Monday 31 July 2017.

Noted as one of the top ten children’s authors in the UK in 2003, award winner Kes Gray wrote a charming book about divorce, for children. Mum and Dad Glue, will not only help your child make sense of the situation but also accept the reality of separation. In 2011 the book was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway Children’s Book Awards.

The author prides himself on his amazingly good memory of balls kicked, lollies licked and scabs picked in his childhood – all of which have worked their way into his stories. He has written numerous books such as the Daisy series, Get Well Friends, Nelly books and more.

This book was illustrated by award winner Lee Wildish, who says nature and people are the biggest influence on his work, as he tries to get as much character and expression as possible, into each piece of work.
